I’m Still Longing For That History - V
I have to admit being totally transfixed by the above video. We’ve posted I Am Noxious in the past, but what then sounded like a bedroom project with a spark of intrigue has now been elevated by way of lovestruck, This Is A Ballad.
The video for the track could have been made by anyone, but it’s often the thought to execute the simplest of concepts that speaks to their creator’s ingenuity. What better way to portray the demure mood of a song filled with the gentle acceptance that the one you want will never be yours, than in sparse black and white, a single lens focused on longing lips, visible breath and a heavy heart gradually setting itself free. Add to the heartstring visuals words that marry the sounds of Bernard Sumner and Alexis Taylor and the package deal has me questioning whether it’s possible to fall in love with a half-obscured face, a wrinkled t-shirt and a room of empty walls.
I Am Noxious also recently covered the Black-Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling in a manner that reminds me of Doveman’s 2008 Footloose project.
