I’ve returned from CMJ where I spent far more time walking around than seeing music. What can I say, I’m very easily distracted. One of the bands I’d most wanted to see, and subsequently missed every one of their shows was Bleached, the newly formed act fronted by sisters Jennifer and Jessica Clavin whom you might remember from one of the best live bands to disband in recent years, Mika Miko. As Bleached, the Clavin sisters sing rumbling punk rock & roll in unison over fuzzed out guitar riffs. Their sunny, West Coast slanted melodies might inspire you to dump a beer over your friend’s head, dye your hair hot pink, or start a zine. Maybe, all three. Check out “You Take Time” off their Carter 7” and come see the band in Chicago tomorrow, Tuesday, October 25 at Crown Tap Room.
Their next release will be a 7” out on Suicide Squeeze in December.
