We’re going to celebrate Swedish Sunday this week in the form of a little visual diversion. It’s no secret that Familjen is one of my favorite Swedes and we’ve featured him in full before. But this week I don’t want to write about him, I want to share his Swedish Grammy award-winning video for Det Snurrar I Min Skalle, directly by the immensely talented director, editor and artist Johan Söderberg. Söderberg has lent his hand to videos for everyone from Beyonce to U2 to The Knife to a personal favorite, Robyn’s video for Konichiwa Bitches. Söderberg’s video for Det Snurrar I Min Skalle makes full use of Familjen’s production, warping the synthed-out guitar effects into a Bauhausian visual assault with a dash of cult creepiness. The result is amazingly hypnotic and you’re sure to watch it more than once.
