A Prayer for Kevin Garnett - capcom d
So obviously, I’ve been a big-titty-baby and haven’t done shit on this blog yet, but all that is about to change! So without further adieu, here is the first leaked track from Fly by Night: The Prequel EP, a Willy Joy, CAPCOM, Handshake compilation available now on Turntable Lab. Big ups to Willy Joy on the MF-in’ remix.
Capcom – A Prayer for Kevin Garnett (Willy Joy Safe Journeys Remix) (320 kbps)
Now you must understand that I grew up in Minnesota and Kevin Garnett leaving the Timberwolves was like my Grandpa leaving my Grandma for a more promising, well-rounded, “new look†Grandma with a defense-first minded coach and a real chance to win his first championship. A chance sadly my grandmother, (the Minnesota Timberwolves), could never offer him. BUT SHE (my Grandma) WAS AT HOME RAISING FOUR KIDS FOR GOD’S SAKE, WHILE HE WAS OFF DOING GOD-KNOWS-WHAT IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC…AND EVEN WHEN HE CAME HOME ALL HE WANTED TO DO WAS INSEMINATE DALMATIONS AND RUN CAMPS FOR CROSS-EYED CHILDREN OUT OF THEIR HOBBY FARM…but that’s neither here nor there.
After some soul searching over what it meant to let go of a part of my childhood, I decided to dedicate this track to KG and wish him the best of luck with his new family, the Boston Celtics. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, hope he finds as much happiness as he’s given me since I was 12. As for my Grandpa, he turns 96 this Sunday so eat shit, haters!
