Bryanb and I loved us some UK Garage/2-Step in our college days. Artful Dodger’s Re-Rewind and MJ Cole’s Sincere were staples in our household and I still have a soft spot for this genre, however-many years later.
Man Like Me are a trio from where else but, London Town. Their music pulls from a variety of influences including hip-hop, grime, club, R&B and pop. MLM are kind of like the British equivalent of Le Le—their instrumentation is skilled but comedy is the name of their vocal game. I’ll be honest, I can’t get into a lot of their tracks and I’m unsure if their music is intended to be taken as a comedy album, or serious music.
Regardless, on occasion their humor hits me just right and their ode to UK garage, London Town is just the fun romp needed on a dreary Monday. Go ahead, get out your matching Moschino, get up on your Gucci loafer sole!

This page came up in a search I did a while back & I keep coming back to watch the video! I was (and still am) involved with the UK Garage & 2-step sound, and I’m absolutely LOVING this track! It’s comedic but still GOOD. Nice post!
