Juggapalooza - V
By now you’ve probably seen the wild romp that is the 15-minute Gathering of the Juggalos infomercial. Well, the 10th annual Dark Carnival has come and gone, taking place this past weekend, right here in my fair state of Illinois. Since my web stats tell me that over 50% of my traffic comes from non-American readers, let me break down the Juggalo for you in one sentence—gas huffing, white trash youth accessorized with face paint, Faygo soda and a permanent chip on their shoulder.
Chicago artist Derek Erdman ventured to the gathering this past weekend and spoke with the Juggalos (and Juggalettes) and the result is the video above and a companion photo diary. Turn on, tune in, and drop out with Erdman’s brave tour into the depths of a subculture hellbent on having a good time—on their terms.
