Midnight Desserts - badnewsbojan
I’ve been spending late nights working with the constant distraction of visiting the MySpace pages of bands I like, going through their top friends and digging deeper and deeper to find unknown new talent. Most of the times it leads to nothing, but you do run into some gems.
One very late night (or early morning) I found the Trailer Trash Tracys. The first snare hit wakes you up and grabs your attention for the following four minutes of the oversaturated pop chaos that is Candy Girl. There’s not much more here than a guitar riff or two, a repetitive drumbeat and a catchy lyric that’s been used a hundred times before, but it’s all perfectly meshed into a mesmerizing pop song that will get stuck in your head for weeks.
Word is getting out fast about these guys and with good reason. They’re playing a few shows with V’s current obsession The xx and their debut 7″ is coming out next month.
