Terry Poison Steals Our Hearts and Dancing Feet - marcusdowling

Posted by marcusdowling

A volatile mix of sex, synth and snark, and a grooving dollop of guitars dominate the concept of Israeli quintet Terry Poison and has led them to European success including opening for Depeche Mode during their most recent visit to Israel. With a postpunk, heavy keyboard and synthesized sound and an irreverent, snotty attitude reminiscent of CSS, the band is a winner. Originally a riot grrrl punk duo before meeting producer Idan “Bruno” Grife, their sound has matured and been refined into something a lot more palatable for the mainstream. They’re even actresses as well, guitarist Gili Saar stars in an Israeli telenovela. Terry Poison embark on a US tour this October, and we fully expect buzz and excitement to follow.

Presented for your aural and visual pleasure, three examples of their fun, danceable, pop-leaning sound. For more information on the band, visit their MySpace.
