Swedish Sunday :: The Crêpes - V

While we haven’t done a formal post on Swedish Balearic pop disco duo Studio (yet), if you’re a fan of El Perro Del Mar, then you are probably acquainted with their name. Rasmus Hägg is one half of Studio and lent production duties to El Perro Del Mar’s newest release, Love is Not Pop. Hägg’s Studio partner, Dan Lissvik, is no less busy, dipping his hands into his own side project with Fredrik Lindson of The Embassy titled The Crêpes.
The Crêpes are an easily likable band that mix indie pop and surf rock melodies with the Balearic influence of Studio. Their debut release, What Else? is out now on Swedish label Information and it’s deserving of a slot in your rotation. The upbeat tracks will please your inner pop fan and the slower selections are a drowsy, sun-washed soundtrack for lazy weekends.
Check out two tracks from The Crêpes debut What Else? and come back next weekend for a proper foray into the immersive tunes of Studio.
