My House Is A Disco House - V

If you haven’t heard, there’s a disco house movement bubbling under the pavement of Chicago’s streets. I don’t know what spurred it, and frankly I don’t care. A magical mix of nu disco, house, funk and beyond has begun to grace the speakers of select venues, brought to you by an ambitious cast of characters. It’s the best thing to happen to nightlife in this city in years. I can only stand in the corner of the club sipping my gin & tonic and offering self-deprecating asides about how I’m too old and ugly to pull off a gold lamé onesie for so long before I just start staying in on the weekends. Thanks to the boys (and girl) pushing disco down Chicago’s eardrums I’ve got an excuse to dance and socialize again.
It’s been a few months since Michael Jackson’s passing, the chatter has died down, and it’s now safe to again resume posting MJ edits. My fave Chicago disco boys, the Only Children, have just completed a stellar edit of MJ’s Off The Wall. The Only Children are great at reworking a track without sacrificing the history and integrity of the original, and their newest effort blends seamlessly.
Out with the old. In with the nu (disco).

Perfect to keep Monday moving along, right?
I like how this city sort of changes face right around this time every year, and gets ready for winter in a way that fighters get prepared for go in the ring. The music scene seems to follow suit, to some degree.
this is perfect so perfect!
