I’m Gone - V
Woven Bones is Andrew Burr, Matty Nichols and Casey Seymour, three guys from Austin who make gritty, sludge psych. They sound a lot like the Crocodiles, who sound like The Jesus and Mary Chain, which means they sound a lot like The Jesus and Mary Chain. I’m not complaining, I’m a sucker for that sound and I’ve been eating up their slew of 7″ releases and their newest 12″ EP, The Minus Touch.
Burr’s mean little southern punk drawl brings to mind the psychobilly antics of The Cramps and Nichols and Seymour lend instrumental backing that growls, hisses and pounds. Woven Bones seem like they’d be a great, loud act to see in a small venue and I look forward to them hopefully someday making their way through Chicago. Or, maybe I’ll actually go to SXSW this year…
