Before you, my whole life was acapella… - bryanb

Kelis has described her new album, FleshTones, set to drop early summer, as a lullaby to her newborn son Knight. Judging by the first single, Acapella, this will surely be no child’s play. Produced by David Guetta, Acapella is lyrically sweet and heartfelt but vague enough to avoid sentimentality all while the pounding synths find a middle ground between r&b and dance, similar to Guetta’s previous hit When Love Takes Over with Kelly Rowland. With rumored collaborations with DJ Ammo, Jean Baptiste, Benny Benassi, Burnz, Diplo and Boys Noize, Acapella appears to be indicative of a whole new direction for Kelis.

And just good measure, here’s one of my favorite Kelis tracks from a couple years ago.

Good song, still looking for a chilled house version but WHAT has Kelis done to herself? x
