The Pride festivities are underway here in Chicago and in support, meet my favorite new gay Casio-pop crooner, Myles Cooper. His debut single, “Gonna Find Boyfriends Today” is just the right kind of lighthearted kitsch for the weekend. The track and it’s campy, acid-washed video counterpart act as a primer on Cooper’s pop culture-influenced taste. I’ve had his dance pop mix for Dummy on repeat and its accompanying interview definitely made me fall for the kid. He reminds me of Edwyn Collins in his Orange Juice days, and that makes me smile.
