A FOND FAREWELL - V
In the six years I’ve lived in Chicago, I’ve seen the nightlife landscape explode. Through all the twists and turns, there was one event that always stood out from the rest and embraced individuality over trends.
Attended by a cast of colorful characters and pansexual partiers, and never afraid to push the envelope and embrace the artistic and Avant-garde, OUTDANCED was a refreshing take on a nightlife scene which was growing more homogeneous by the day. For the past two and a half years, every Tuesday night, Scott Cramer and Jillian Valentino curated the most eclectic evening in Chicago nightlife. They supported unknown talent, giving many musicians and DJs too controversial (or just plain weird) a place to call home. Local acts played alongside big names like Peaches, Crystal Castles, Whitey, Hearts Revolution, Dandi Wind, Metronomy and Kap Bambino. OUTDANCED was a place to be comfortable in your own skin and let your imagination roam wild.
OUTDANCED ends its run with a final farewell party tomorrow night. BFF will perform live alongside DJ sets by Willy Joy and Pier Novikov. Gold lamé-clad tounge-in-cheek hip-hoppers Leslie & the Ly’s take the stage as the final main act as the curtain closes on the OUTDANCED era.
