Leak Of The Week: Lupe Fiasco Gives Himself A Post-Punk Makeover - newbornrodeo

Lupe Fiasco may be “85% sure” that his next album, the triple-disc LupEND, will be his last, but who’s to say he can’t adorn a shaky British accent and start cranking out post-punk tunes under a new moniker after the fact. That new moniker would be the top-secret project known as Japanese Cartoon and their song Heirplanes is CreamTeam’s Leak of the Week.
In natural mysterious rock star fashion, Lupe Fiasco is denying involvement with the band. He owns up to financing the band but insists that Percival Fats (born Percival Hindenburg-Fats) is fronting the band. Good one. Check out Heirplanes and decide who you want to believe. You’re getting a pretty cool song either way.

What do you think of Japanese Cartoon? Should Lupe Fiasco stick to what he knows best? Listen to more music on their MySpace page if necessary. By the way, be sure to come back for another Leak of the Week every Thursday and see what’s happening on these mean Internet streets!
