Apparently Kanye is pissed because Thom Yorke snubbed him post-Grammys. I don’t really consider this important, interesting or bloggable news, but it seems to be making headlines. Someone, somewhere thought it was important enough to commission the above illustration, which is the real topic of this post.

I came across this illustration yesterday via Pedestrian News who attributes its source to Idolator. After spending a good chunk of my workday combing Idolator, I came up empty-handed. I love the style of this illustration and the witty delivery of the concept. I even made it my music-themed desktop for the week.

Bloggers, I implore you to act as journalists and properly credit and link your sources. And if any of you readers know the name of the artist responsible for this lovely illustration, please leave us a comment! (Kanye and Thom are also curious.)

UPDATE: A big thanks to tankboy who revealed the identity of the illustrator as Ryan Catbird! The image was not commissioned for an article on the recent Kanye vs. Thom feud, but was commissioned for Idolator’s 2007 Pop Critics Poll. You can check out more musician illustrations by Ryan on his flickr and he also runs what looks to be a great music blog and fledgling record label called The Catbirdseat.
