Triphop in 2009 - V

I’m so wowed by the artist I’m about to share with you that today I will break one of CreamTeam’s long-standing rules—thou shalt not post embedded music players.

KiD A is the moniker of Virginian Anni T. A young lady with a mature voice far beyond her years, KiD A’s otherworldy vocal stylings evoke references from the jazz greats to Portishead, Bjork and Sia. Backed by electronic production heavy with keyboard, thudding bass and classical string stylings, KiD A’s music is the logical progression to triphop that we’ve all been waiting for.

KiD A’s obvious talent shines bright and so far all the right people have taken notice. Her first EP, In A Dream House, We All Ride Carousels, out this May, is a collaboration with Dan Le Sac and features art from Swedish artist Karolina Kling. KiD A will appear at this year’s Nuit Sonores festival held in Lyon, France alongside Danger, These New Puritans, Dizzee Rascal and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. We predict big things from this refreshing young talent and with that we break all our own rules and embed two of her tracks for your listening pleasure.

Woah. This is really nice. It’s always nice to see great music on the horizon.

She’s lovely. Hope to catch her shows in the future. I can’t wait until the EP release.

2 more kid a songs. "vertigo" and "maladjusted me" on cozylab’s production page (for fans of massive attack, portishead, etc).
